Average/decent OTA is about 15 - 35 miles. Anything higher will cost you.

All my stations are over 40 miles, get them all with a CM 4228

Depends on several factors -
terrain,
Height of antennas
How good the receiving antenna is
transmit power
obstacles
Etc.

That said, some lucky people can indeed pull in digital stations from 100+ miles.
All I can say is try it.

Radio signals travel straight for ever. They can go to other stars and planets given enough time. As long as your antenna can physically "see" the transmitter antenna, you will get a signal.

If it can't see it, then you need more gain, or more output power on the transmitter end. There are also bounces of signals that will make the pattern not a perfect doughnut shape. The atoms in the atmosphere will also block some signal. Move to orbit, and then you can get every station on this side of the planet.

Yep - mine are 45-50 & I get them with a 4228. 2 are always rock solid (sig st in the 90's), another 2 are sometimes a little shakey (sig st = 72).
