I have searched around and have had conflicting info. I have a 722 Dish dual tuner that runs for 2 TVs. I am going to have a install an outdoor OTA to pick up local HD but it would be difficult to bring in another cable for the OTA. Is it possible to combine the OTA signal with the dish signal and then separate it back out to be able to attached it to the OTA receiver input?

If so what equipment is needed?

You need a pair of diplexers. At the dish end, you combine the the two cables - the dish feed and the OTA feed. Then one cable comes to the 722 where you use the 2nd diplexer to split the signals back out to feed into the correct 722 inputs. Use the 2nd diplexer before using the 722's separator.

since this was confusing to me at first also, it's now my crusade to make sure everyone knows about this helpful thread with diagrams on exactly how to do this. all credit to brantlew and mfabel for the pictures.

Glad to see my experiences in the other thread may be helping someone. (By the way, I ended up swapping the Spartan preamp for the 7777 and am getting a bit more consistent signal.) I use a single coax to the 722 that is carrying the OTA antenna and both satellite tuner signals, and it is the same coax that backfeeds to TV2. It is working great for me!
