View Full Version : Using Echostar Dish 500 for receiving DTV?
I am afraid the answer may be no but I'll ask it anyway. Can I use the Echostar's Dish 500 (oval dish) to receive DTV signals, i.e. instead of using DTV's oval?

You could if you only want to recieve 101 and 110. If you do not need to look at 119 it should work fine. I use a direcTV LNB on one of my dishes for Dish network. The Dish LNBs (not the dishpro) ones should work too.
If you have a TWIN or QUAD lnb, replace it. I took the lnb off of my old 18" dish and used my 20" DISH. It works great and my SS is 95-98. It use to be 85-89. This is if you just want to look at the 101 sat (like I do!)

Why bother though, you can get a dish for free with many of DirecTV's offers.
Use the lnb and the mounting arm from the free dish and attach to the 20". Better for rain fade!
If you can get the new triple lnb dish for free, then use that by all means...
