View Full Version : Autorecord search doesn't record

I wanted to record motorcycle road-racing on SPEED channel, but not get any of the motocross stuff, and not get other shows about motorcycles-- just racing. Basically I'm after the AMA & FIM Superbike races, and MotoGP. My first thought was to try:

AANY Superbike MotoGP AALL Racing Events & Sports/Motorcycle

Turns out this doesn't work, because you can use AALL or AANY, but not both. Bummer. Ok, so I'll create two separate searches. MotoGP hasn't started yet, so I created:

Superbike AALL Racing Events & Sports/Motorcycle

Perfect! It finds all the showings of the upcoming FIM Superbike races on SPEED. So I set it to autorecord. I just wanted one of each, so I set it to first run only. Go to bed, check it 24 hours later-- it's not set to record anything. So I changed it to 'BOTH', re-check it 24 hours later-- it's still not going to record anything. What gives? If I look at the search via "Recent Searches", it sees a bunch of showings, but when I look at it in the Prioritizer, it says it has no upcoming episodes. So I set it manually to record the races that are on today, and it accepted that fine-- no conflicts. So conflicts/priority were not the problem. But it continues to refuse to schedule the ones that it finds for the Philip Island races being shown next weekend.

FWIW, this is an HR21-700 on the current NR (1fe I guess it is). Any ideas? TIA.

I have the same problem... I seriously miss the "wishlist" of my Tivo as it worked much better. I was able to create a "Motorcycle Racing" wishlist with multiple keyword searchs that caught:

FIM World Superbike
FIM World Supersport
Moto GP
AMA Superbike

without catching AMA Formula xtreme, supersport, or supercross races. I wish that Speed would give each their own series instead of marking them all "motorcycle racing"

Especially now with the HR20-100

I have seen one post where it sounds like it's possible they would have recorded even thought he to-do list didn't show them. But that was specifically for regular auto-record lists, not the enhanced version (aall) you were using.

If you figure something out please let us Motorcycle Racing watchers know :-)

In the end, "Superbike AALL Racing Events & Sports/Motorcycle" actually worked. Things didn't show up in the TODO list until very near the time when they were to record, but eventually they did record. And this search picked up both AMA Superbike and FIM World Superbike.

Also, I noticed that SPEED is now titling MotoGP with its own series title, but for some reason it is only used on the 125s right now, while the main MotoGP is still under "Motorcycle Racing". They may fix that as time goes by.

Thanks,

I'll try that for superbike

They also keep switch between "Moto GP" and "MotoGP" All in an effort to screw up DVR's (IMHO)

So, What did you think of the first race last night? I actually had a motogp.com subscription last year. Debating on whether or not to renew right now. It's like $76 bux after the euro/us conversion.

It was half of a good race at least, although the field got pretty strung out by the end.

It was interesting to see the SD widescreen that SPEEDHD had it in too. Not as good as true HD, but not bad really.

ya, HDLite I think it's called. There were some obvious 16x9 SD and 4:3 SD cameras, but I think the main cameras were in at least sudoHD. The color looked a lot better than normal.
