Can you watch recordings?

I thought I had read somewhere the answer to my question, but can't find it. I am planning on replacing my HR10-250 with an HR21. My question is, when I disconnect my satellite cables and deactivate my 10-250, can the saved recorded programs on it still be accessed and be watched if I connect it to another TV?

If I remember correctly, unhook the the sat cables before you have the Tivo service canceled and you should be good to go.
