Has anyone had any problems this afternoon with the Boston HD locals? All I am getting is a black screen with no message. SD locals are fine as well as all other HD channels.

Troubleshooting with the D* tech over the phone did not resolve anything.

John

HR21-200 with 0x1fe

Edit 2 [Tom Robertson]: This seems to be solved and working correctly again. 4:45pm MT.

Edit [Tom Robertson]: DIRECTV is aware of the problem and is actively working on it. At this point, no estimated time to repair.

I'll post more as I know it.

Yup. I posted in the general thread, same thing. Funny though, I was on the phone with CS when it happened, I was talking them into free HR21.

The guy said he would swap out my HR10-250 for HR21 free of charge. Thing is, the 250 is mine, I bought it at Tweeter years ago. Think the install guy will really take it? Sheesh, I paid a grand for the thing three years ago and it's still under extended warranty.

Anyone with this experience? Can I talk the installer out of taking the 250?

Thanks, James.

CSRs are just used to talking to folks with leased equipment

It's some ISP location, btw... Most likely a fiber feed of the locals out to Colorado/LA, but I'm not sure...

Don't you guys constantly have issues with the Boston HD locals? I mean it's not as bad as it was last year probably over the summer, but it was just ridiculous for a while. I had had a tech come out and he said my dish was off an inch or 2, which was apparently hundreds of miles in space as he put it.

Right after he left it happened again and I just put my hands up. It still happens periodically, but not to the level it was before.
