What happened to my locals from a different state?

I took my receiver from VA to vacation home in NC. Signed up for locals in that area. Got home 90 miles north and could still receive NC locals. Cool :) .....I'm very excited about this.......more ACC basketball games. Locals in VA only lasted for two weeks and then they are gone one day. :(

Go back to vacation home (NC) with reciever, plug it up, locals working great. Go back home 90 miles north and no NC locals.

Why did they tease me for two weeks......I want my NC locals while in
VA! What happened!

Sounds like they may have narrowed the spot beam

did the NC locals just disappear to be replaced by Va locals?

NO, they just are not there unless I take the receiver to NC

Then almost a guarantee... that the spot beam has narrowed a bit, or you are just on the edge at home, and for what ever reason you are not in the spot beam anymore.

Yes, SFSS would be a spotbeam issue.

in any case I believe it violates Shvera

I guessed they were adjusting spot beams. Have you ever seen a D* spot beam map by area?

I do not, they are very rare. most of the time they follow the Nelson maps

If the service address on your account is in NC, and you had 1 receiver in VA that was getting the NC locals at one point, but now is not, and it's getting SFSS, I'd have to concur with Earl, that the spotbeam was wider then and now it's tightened. And yes, it most certainly violates SHVERA.

It's probably out of date, but check out
