RF remote?

I run my remote on my dvr in RF. I recently upgrade another tv to an hd reciever (h20-100). I set it up and ran it in rf and it worked ok but was a little "short" because I did not haver the external antenna hooked up. I call Direct and they said they will send me a antenna. In the meantime the new reciever downloaded a software upgrade and now no rf at all. I had to switch back to ir but I need to use it in rf. What happened?? I have tried a couple of red button reboots to no avail. Help

What model of DVR?

Until you put some kind of rf antenna on it, I wouldn't panic. You can use a short piece of coax with the outer insulation stripped off (so just the center copper wire is showing for 6 or 8 inches) as an antenna.
