Two weeks ago my 3LNB dish was replaced with a new slimline and 2 HR21-700s were added to my setup. The installer loaded the most current version of software on both boxes. (1FE) For the first 9 days, everything worked great. The shows I setup to record all recorded and played back with no problems. On the tenth day, I connected both systems to an ethernet router and checked out VOD.
That evening when we sat down to view some of our recorded shows, we had extra audio noises and picture break ups on everything we watched. Same thing for the following night. I also had problems when viewing live shows. I kept my two HR10-250s active for backups and the same shows viewed on them had no problems at all.
Someone in one of these threads had ask the question: Are these audio and video problems happening only for those that have an ethernet connection into the box?
I removed the ethernet cable from both HR21s two days ago and have not seen any more audio or video problems. The response time is also improved.
It leads me to believe the software to support ethernet is not yet ready for prime time. I'll connect the ethernet again for a trial after next software upgrade. Until then, I'm going to just enjoy error free viewing of all my new HD channels and forget VOD.
