6.3f causing HR10-250 problems

Could 6.3f be causing HR10-250 problems such as rebooting and freezing. Mine started doing this after the software upgrade. Fine before the software upgrade.

Anyone else experience this?

It's not uncommon for Tivo software updates to trigger sudden hard-drive related problems, like rebooting and freezing. It's because the new software is installed on a previously unused drive partition, so any problems on that partition will suddenly appear. Your best bet is to upgrade/replace the hard drive.

what about if its on a recent brand new hard drive?

you are saying that the software update isnt causing these problems directly?

how do we figure that out this soon without knowing what is going on. i guess i mean software is always prone to problems adn knowong how directv does this stuff i wouldn tbe so fast to say its a hard drive, especially since the hard drive is brand new in my case. are we sure its not the software?

In my experience drive-related problems actually have very little to do with the age of the drive.

It might help to know more about how you created the "new" hard drive .... what tools did you use?

the one shot dvr upgrade cd - no hacks, no network stuff, nothing extra at all.
