About a month ago I upgraded from an HR10-250 to a new Slimline and HR20-700 all was great until our first storm when we started getting 710 error (i think) on a lot of channels. Turns out since everything is bigger on the Slimline dish that it flopped around badly in it old dish location.

So this weekend I moved the dish to a pole mount about 10 fteet from the house. Using the HR21's signal meter I tuned my dish including fine adjustment. I seem to have good signal strength but I not sure about some of the low values on 99, 119 and 103(s). Below are my satellite readings and I live in Central Texas. Are they good enough?

Looks really good, the low values you are seeing are spotbeams. Thats normal.

Yep, those readings are great. Good job!

Thanks guys!

I think DirecTV did a good job on the Slimline dish. The alignment procedure was straight forward and not that difficult even with my two young (5 and 8) helpers fightling over who gets to call out the numbers.

It's nice to have "helpers"!

Help is awesome. A little trick i use (i have a pole mount 75ft from my home) i call my cell phone from my house phone and put the reciever on a particular transponder to get the signal strength (so it makes that loud beeping noise when you got a good signal) put the phone near the tv. Go outside with the cell phone on speaker and point away :) I find this usefull for really nailing down the 103 and 99 sats after you get a good signal on the 101 :D Just pick a transponder on the 103 (not a spotbeam lol) and peak it
