Speed HD, Nascar HD Driver channels, as well as others just freeze up but the audio continues to work fine.

what other channels do you have problems with? Signal looks good. SpeedHD had problems recently according to Directv

You are not waiting long enough for the signal strengths at 99 and at 103(s) to be measured. You need to wait until all the "dashes" are replced by a number, even if it is zero.
But your signals are fine, you do not actually need to worry about 99 and 103(s). As ironwood said, there is a problem with the signal from Speed (which includes some of the Nascar feed) and this causes some receivers to lock up. DirecTV and Speed are apparently still working on the problems.
Your 5LNB has failed and must be replaced. On satellite 101 there should be good readings for every transponder except 26.

Something is up with the 101..........check fittings & wire.......any trees around?
Maybe LNB or (multi swithch port)...........try rearranging the cables at the the LNB and see if the 101 signal looks better.....there shouldn't be gaps and only one zero. Reset after changing the wires.
Joe
Maybe not. Check those zero tp's individually using the Signal Meters.

Incorrect gentlemen.
There are several spotbeams on 101.

No Multi Switch.
2 brand new RG6 feeds directly to the dish with Digicon compression fittings.
Same results on Tuner 2
As far as the signal strength meters:
101 TP4 0%
101 TP5 96%
101 TP12 0%
101 TP20 0%
101 TP21 96%
No trees what so ever.

Oh one more thing.
What Orbital location and TP is Speed HD on?
Also where are the NASCAR feeds located?
Thanks.

So now your saying TP5 & TP21 have returned to 96%?
I know for a fact that at LEAST 4, 12,& 20 are spotbeams.

All on 103(c), except for the hotpass SD version channels 790-794 which are probably on 101.

And the Speed/Nascar issues are NOT signal strength-related. There is a problem with the bitstream that is causing the dropouts/freezes/lockups.
101 spotbeams are 4, 12, 18, 20, 26 and 28, so any or all of those could be low or zero. TP5 and TP21 should not have been zero, although if they were OK the second time around (it looks like that was the case) it may have been just a glitch.

Hotpass HD seems ok today. Hiccup every now and then but for the most part it's fine.

As of 6:45 PM Eastern time 248,265,269,276,327,359, and 607 have frozen video with good audio.
I guess I'll repeat the alignment process tomorrow after work.

What are your 103(c) readings?
Can we get a pic of those?

Your problem is ANYTHING BUT you your signal.
All those channels you listed are on 103(c).
Do not touch your dish's alignment.
It's perfect.
Could be screwy software in the receiver.
Could be a bad receiver.
Could be a bad LNB assembly on the dish dropping signals to zero inadvertently.
Could be a bad wire somewhere (like shielding touching the center copper conductor or not enough copper sticking out of the cable's connector.
Try unplugging the receiver's power cord for 10 FULL minutes and then plug it back in.

Your not going to believe this but when I installed this a few weeks ago I leveled the mast. Put the listed elevation and tilt in, pointed the AZ in the general direction and locked down, came inside and plugged in the receiver. The signal strengths shown is what I got. No dithering or peaking. It was just blind luck.

Yeah, look at my numbers that I just posted after a "professional" installation and you're going to sleep much better at night....

That has been my experience,
I spend time getting the mast plumb. Setting tilt and elevation to the exact published settings is worth the time spent on the ground doing it.......making sure the damn arm is fitted correctly; do these things and swing the dish to the correct az. The installation part of the transaction is done!
Tighten everything!............Most service calls I have done recently showed where the tech had things right and the rig just fell apart.

Well I figured out it isn't a signal issue. Speed channel is freezing up tonight and if I reboot the HR21 it starts working again. :nono2: :nono:

Frozen up again this morning. Hit the red reset button this time and has worked good all day.
