Right after activation new H21 boxes show searching for signal on most channels. Signal meters show normal signal which then change to all zeros, it goes back and forth. This has been going on for a few weeks but I havent heard of any service calls related to the issue so I assume this problems is not permanent. Does anybody have more info on this?

I had a similar issue on my HR21-700s (both of them) where the signal goes in and out. The installer that came out determined that the lines going to each box had a short in the line (how the line was cut). He fixed and I have had no problems. He did replaced the WB68 and LNB enclosure but it was the line since the problem persisted after replaced both items. Then he fixed the line issue and the problem resolved itself. Good luck.

Well I am surprised nobody else had this experience. I installed HD receiver today with no problems but for the last 3-4 weeks almost every day this weird stuff was happening and supposedly is related to software updates.

Today I noticed new software. Didnt fix the problem though. No problem on local HD channels. All standard channels go Searching for Sat for 10-20 seconds, then pictures comes normal. Higher HD channels some seem to work fine others have same problem. Signal strength shows either all zeros or all normal high numbers.

ironwood: On my HR21-100, the current software for the tp-by-tp satellite signal strength grids is a little screwed up. It's acting like it's cycling through the tp's faster than it has a chance to actually capture a reading on each one every time. The result is a bunch of zeros popping on and off, to be temporarily replaced by the actual number. A check of any such tp using the Signal Meters reveals a normal steady signal. I'm not, however, getting any SFSS messages.....

Yeah thats possible. Maybe receiver somehow doesnt get signal fast enough and instead of waiting just goes straight to zeros on Tps and SSFS on channels. Because once channel get picture there is no further problem until channel is changed.
