Can someone tell me if MASN will carry Orioles games again this year? I got them on MASN last year but with this price increase I am thinking about dropping from choice extra to just choice. I am wondering if I do that would I lose MASN. I don't have a special sports package now, MASN comes with choice extra. My concern is if I drop down to choice I know I will lose some channels but I don't know if I will lose MASN.

MASN is the RSN for the O's and Nat's. That is the network the games will always be on for now.
As long as MASN is your local RSN you should have no problems receiving the games.
Go to the link below and put in your zip code and it will let you know.

MASN claims it will do some games of the Os and Nats in HD this season, although it doesn't appear to be a large number of games of either team. If I recall, it was something like 20 games in HD and those will probably only be home games. While many RSNs are doing all of their teams games in HD in 2008 (like YES, NESN, FSN NW, STO, etc.), some RSNs are well behind and need to catch up.

The O's will actually have 43 games in HD. 20 home and 20 away will be their games. Than they will be in HD 3 more games that are actually Nat's broadcast.

The Examiner
Comcast, Cox and other cable outlets in the area are working with MASN to make sure on those nights that the network offers a game in HD that they will have a channel on their system free to carry the HD feed Due to a lack of HD channel space the cable companies will preempt programming on an existing HD channel opening space for the game to be played then the channel will return to normal programming. The details are being worked out and we will let you know the details as soon as we do. We will print the HD channel line up as soon as we get it.
It is not often that we say “Wait till next year for a full compliment of home games in HD,” before the season begins but if you are a baseball fan of the Orioles or the Nationals 40 games in HD is really not too bad.
He also mentions how other HD channels must added ahead of MASN, and the cable companies have limited space.

Well, that is one blogger who fell for the company line.
Let's see. Comcast has Mojo to play with. They can put local HD on there any time they want.
Game-only HD channels exist all over the country, but it is an "issue" for Comcast and MASN.
Blah, blah, blah.
Wow.. looks like just about every O's game against the Yankees will be in HD this season, according to that sked. Awesome!
