Anybody have past experience to drawn on for this question -
What are all of the possible sources for buying small bulk quantities of the HR10 and HR21 units?
I know know stores like best buy and costco etc have relationships with directv distributors but those are national chains and can buy huge quanitities.
Where do all the other small stores and little guys buy in small bulk to be able to sell these units cheap and still make a living?
Can you get them in small bulk from directv at a discount or do you have to be an authorized dealer?
I know my neighbor hood and churches want more units. Maybe we can all band together to get cheaper discounts on each unit. No idea what these units wholesale price is to any of these store though.

You could always try to become a dealer or distributor.

Well, I was hoping that we could brainstorm to come up with ways for all of us to save money. Im not so sure I could be a dealer or distributor.
Can we buy bulk and save from DirecTV or someplace?

Costco is probably your best bet. My understanding is that their policy is to only mark up products by a certain percentage from what they bought for. You'd be hard pressed to get a better price than Costco.

I agree, Costco has the best prices on electronics hands down from everything I have seen and bought from them.

Don't waste your time. We buy them by "the hundreds" through distribution quite often and they cost us about the same as buying them from Costco (around $165). Go to Costco. The money isn't made on the equipment but on the PPC's (comissions for new accounts) which is why you won't gain anything by mass purchases (unless you resell them as a dealer to new customers).

good try - but stores get it for much lower then that cost in bulk. costco makes nothing off the subcriptions and they arent going to sell something that takes up so much space at cost.

Costco's average markup is only about 10% and their maximum markup is 14%. I imagine you'll have a hard time competing with that. I know I've gotten 4 free HR's from Directv and lately they are calling trying to give me more free units.
