I have a unique problem. I have had reception issues with all of my standard def local channels about 90% of the time since my install in October 2007. When it works, I get 90-100% on all transponders. When I lose signal, I get <50% on transponders 19 and/ or 20 (101 sat). None of the other channels on the 101 sat are affected.

I have a slimline 5lnb dish with a short run to a 6x8 multiswitch. Each sat receiver has one line going to it (waiting for the swm8).

I have the following:

3 HR20s
1 HR10-250
1 H20
2 R10s.

I have BBCs on all the newer equipment.

All receivers behave the same way.

DTV has tried the following:

running without the BBCs
replacing the terminations at the LNB and multiswitch (I knew this wouldn't help)
replacing the multiswitch
replacing the lnb and re-aiming the dish

None of this has helped.

BTW, I am in a suburb of Minneapolis. I have been a D* subscriber for 12 years and have never experienced anything like this.

check your cabling and connections at your MS and your dish.A slightly loose connector can cause issues.I had an issue 4 years ago where 1 of my bedroom sets lost cetain channels and my locals, turned out a loose connection at my MS

While we are all thinking about this unusual problem, run a test. Disconnect all the receivers except one H20, and see what signal strengths you get on 101. See if the problem still exists. Then add the receivers back one at a time and see when the problem shows up. The only thing I can think of right now is that you may have a strange problem powering the LNBs; when there are several receivers tuned into 101 there is no problem but if you have only one or two the problem shows up. Or you may have a grounding issue just on oie receiver.

All connections were checked and the terminations were redone (installer thought the previous guy's work was garbage).

No change

did you check connections at the dish?
you have CAREFULLY remove the LNB.
Also you could have alittle moisture on the 99/101/103(its combined in 1 on the slimline)you'll see when you take it off.

D* guy did that and replaced the LNB. It's still winter up here. I am not real excited about going up on the roof.

I'm stumped. You're replaced everything already, right? Have the coax cables between the dish and your house/multiswitch been replaced? Most likely the problem is on the input-side of the multiswitch since it's happening on all receivers simultaneously. That pretty much narrows it down to the dish, LNB, and those cables. One additional thought .... is there anything that could be intermittently blocking your dish's view of the 101-deg satellite?
