Ok, well I experienced my first problems today. This after it's run flawlessly for months!! I tried to play SNL from last nite and there was basically nothing there. Another recording from today didn't work either. It was playing material live just fine. I did a little test. I just hit the rec button to record what I was watching live. It gave all the indications that it was doing that. I tried to load that recording from my list and there was nothing there, or nothing playable.

So...............I turned the unit off. Unplugged and rebooted and everything is working great! I mean it is a little computer, after all, and I do have to reboot my puter once in a while. Not that big of a deal really!!

Is there a way to hard reboot without pulling the power cable??

Ok, admittedly there is one thing I forgot to mention..............duh.............

I've been playing with the media share stuff...........a lot. I play music, so I have a lot of my own stuff on my computer. I also have lots and lots of my own pictures. I have really been digging "Shuffling my music along with a random slideshow of my pictures" <---That is effin awesome, but it's not quite all there yet!! It skips and drops-out a bit.

So there is that: As far as my glitch is concerned.

The Media Share stuff is still Beta so.................................

Glad you fixed your problem, but check your model number inside the access door on the lower right front of the receiver. The -100 only started shipping at the end of last month. You probably have a -200 or -700.

BTW, when you "turn the unit off" and unplug, it wasn't really off, it was in Standby, which means little more than the lights and outputs are turned off, but the receiver otherwise continues to run. The best way we've been able to figure out how to do a hard reboot is to do a Restart Recorder from the System Setup > Reset menu and pull the plug (on either end of the line cord) as soon as the lights momentarily go out. You have about 3 seconds. Then it's best to let it sit for awhile to discharge all capacitors, even overnight sometimes for intractable problems. :)

And yes you are right. I have an HR21-200.

Sorry! Should I repost this there?
