Receiver exchange?

I just got DirecTV installed yesterday. I got 2 receivers both HR20s, one in living room, one in bedroom. Will they let me exchange the one in the bedroom for a H20/21? I didn't realize that the fan sound would bother me but it does. I haven't thrown anything away from the box or anything yet so didn't know.... Anybody know?

Call and ask.. But they probably will say no. Tell them the unit is very loud and maybe they will exchange it for an HR21-100.. From what I understand they are quieter.

sounds like you got a bad unit. only one out of my 5 hr's are loud.

They replaced it, wouldn't let me switch to a plain receiver. We'll see if the next one is better. I tried to request an HR21 as a replacement but he said there wasn't really a way to request one over the other. Hopefully it's better though. I shouldn't be able to stand 20 feet away and hear the fan.

yep good old directv, the customers is only right until we get them to agree to a two year commitment then we jam it up their hdmi port!
