Just wanted to pass along the info on the moving order I just placed with DTV.

I ordered a HD DVR added to the 2 SD DVRs that I already have - charge $99.

They gave a $10 credit for 6 months for already having Starz/Showtime.

They gave me two credits of $50 over a year period for a AAA member.

I thought I did ok, but I just noticed on checking my order that there is a $19.95 charge for handling. Does anyone know what that is for?

DIRECTV always chargers $19.95 for the installer to bring the equipment out.

Just an FYI -
You'll probably get a refurbished DVR, not a new one.

That's what a lot of people get when they say - I talked them down to $99 for the HD DVR. :D
They post a reply a few days later - I got a scratched up refurb unit .

You will be happier in the long run if you do NOT schedule the DTV installation for the same day as the move in.............Load your TVs & DTV eq LAST so it will come off the truck first. All that stuff has to be there before the tech can begin.

+ You will need either your land line phone or a charged cell phone to activate the equipment. Try to find a pay phone these days.
