I now have 11 recievers (7 are dual tuner DVRs). I'm seeking advice on how to connect all 18 tuners to one 5 LNB dish. Four of the DVR receivers have only one RG59 cable drop requiring SWM to serve both tuners. I'd like to diplex my attic OTA antenna with the receivers attached to the SWM as well.

Question 1: Can the RG6 cables from the dish be split to attach to both the SWM8 and the 6x16 multiswitches?

Question 2: If answer to Q1 is yes, is this the best configuration?

Question 3: What hardware should I purchase to (splitters, diplexers, etc.) and in what quantity to implement the configuration?

My equipment consists of (the SWM8 is proposed I haven't purchased it yet):

Basement Bar:
RCA DRD420RE (one satellite input)

Basement Excercise Room:
Philips DSR704 DirecTiVo (two satellite inputs)

Basement Entertainment Area:
DirecTV HR20 DVR (two satellite inputs) using SWM
DirecTV H20 (one satellite input) using SWM legacy

1st Floor Kitchen:
DirecTV R15 DVR (two satellite inputs)

1st Floor Sunroom:
DirecTV R15 DVR (two satellite inputs)

1st Floor Family Room:
DirecTV HR20 DVR (two satellite inputs) using SWM
DirecTV HR20 DVR (two satellite inputs) using SWM

1st Floor Living Room:
DirecTV H20 (one satellite input) using SWM legacy

2nd Floor Master Bedroom:
DirectTV H20 (one satellite input) using SWM legacy

2nd Floor Library:
DirecTV HR21 (two satellite inputs) using SWM

SWM runs: 4 cables serving 8 tuners
Non-SWM runs: 10 cables serving 7 tuners

Total DirecTV Receivers: 11
Total DirecTV Tuners: 18 (4 are not hot, waiting to install SWM8)
Multiswitch: One 6x16
Proposed: Add One SWM8 (keep 6x16)

I think I'm hooked on DVRs! Maybe I need a therapist.

simplest way: hook the SWM8 to 4 lines on the WB616.. then you'll have 12 "old style lines and 8 SWM...

I recommend 2GHz, one-side-power-passing splitters (x 4). Connect the SWM's ports to the power-passing side of the splitters, and make SURE that you match the inputs of the same port on the 6x16.

Other than managing the spaghetti of cabling, this is simple and straightforward.

The off-air antenna can be inserted into the SWM's off-air input (which gets diplexed onto the SWM's output line), and a diplexer used at each receiver to split it back out.

H20 via SWM legacy won't work. You won't get the new HD channels. You need to feed the H20's either from the WB616, or from the SWM side of the SWM.

I would parallel the SWM and the WB616. That gives you up to 16 available non-SWM ports (room to grow). Plus, if one or the other fails you only lose part of your system.
