Does the SWM-8 diplex OTA on legacy ports?

But you can manual diplex it after it leaves the legacy port.
You will probably end up with better results, just diplexing it in AFTER the SWM, on just the lines you need it on.

Are the so-called "Legacy Ports" on the SWM Ku only?

+1

I'm not impressed with the OTA diplexing of the SWM-8.

Before, I was splitting the OTA antenna via 4-way, then diplexing after the BBCs on the four runs from the dish to the IRDs.

That's four diplexed OTA runs.

With the SWM-8, I'm only using three diplexed OTA runs, since the "fourth" run is now off of a legacy port.

My signal levels are now lower, splitting 3-ways via the SWM, versus 4-ways beforehand.

I'm considering, in warmer weather, diplexing old school after the FTM outputs and seeing how I do.

I have a big Winegard attenna in the attic with a Channel Vision pre-amp on it. I have it split into my two SWM-8's and diplexing with the OTA input. I'm getting 90-100% signal on all my locals, works like a charm.
