Free 12 month protection plan???

I could swear I saw a promotion on DTV website where, if you signed up for their Protection Plan, you got the first 12 months for free. Did anyone else sign up for this offer?

I'm being charged the usual $5.99 per month and the CSRs tell me there is no record of this kind of offer. Now they want to charge me $10 to get rid of it. I hope someone can confirm what I think I saw. Maybe I'm crazy. Or ....?

Grrrr! That figures. Not only do they renege on their offer, but they charge us w/o even telling us of the error (nor will they admit to it), AND have the cajones to try and charge me $10 to get rid of it. At least I know its not me that's crazy - only poco askew.

It just keeps getting better and better.

I've given up on customer service across the board. The DirecTV service itself is what I'm here for and hopefully I don't have to call in too often. These boards provide better information and quicker than it takes to get through to a qualified person anyway!

Even with ample documentation like a lot of folks on the other thread had it went downhill.
