Where are you trying to add it at? Do you have a bulk BCA or TMU account?
Here is the issue with TMU's and BCA's. There upgrades are under different parts of the system than regular upgrades. And they have their own special terminology. The stupidity of it all is that their own systems and CSR's don't even know where to find them.
Your best bet is to call into DirecTV, talk with a supervisor and add each individual channel as an Ala Carte. Do not add the premium package or choice because their system will reject it or it will remove your bulk programming and add the new programming at full retail rate.
If that doens't fail contact your System Operator. They should someone in the MDU division of DirecTV that can get it resolved for you. As this is a common occurence.

Thanks. I have a TMU account. It's annoying that I can't add anything online. Thanks though!

Imagine how annoying it is for me as a system operator and having to call on the customers behalf for something that should be simple.
Good news is things are changing for the better with internal system upgrades and trainning. Bad news, DirecTV is still a Billion Dollar company with 10s of thousands of employees and nothing will be changed over night.
I pray for the day that we will be able to add programming to the customers account on our own.

TMU account?!?
Bulk account starting at Total Choice/Choice and above. You basically have:
BCA (Bulk Choice Analog)= Total Choice Limited
TMU= Total Choice/Choice and above

Would this be in like an apartment complex, similar to when basic cable is included in your rent in an apartment complex?

Yes, basically meaning bulk accounts. It can be delivered multiple ways to the end user but how the customer is built in the DirecTV system and what rate you are billed is determined by your class, either BCA, TMU, or DTH (Direct to Home, Retail).

The major problem is that to add to TMU and such accounts you need to use DORIS and the CSRs sometimes don't know how to do that if the MSO is hard to get and you need to add services call DTV and tell the CSR to look in the last pages of DORIS and it will give the CSR the information on how to do it.:)
