I have a simple question about the legacy ports on the SWM. Do they both carry the same information (ie - split internally within the SWM). I tried searching for the answer but could not find it.

Thanks

No. The legacy ports do not carry the new KA HD channels. The legacy ports are designed to be used with any other receiver besides the HR-xx and h-xx receivers. The ports function just like any port on a multi-switch, and cannot be split like the SWM lines can be.

The legacy ports each carry the same signal availability as each other - but they do not carry the same signal as the SWM ports. Is that what you were asking?

They are not "split" internally, they are "multiswitched" internally. What that means is that the SWM will send the proper signal to the legacy port based on what the receiver is requesting, just like an external 2x4, 3x4, 4x4, 4x8, etc., multiswitch.

Each legacy port is capable of fully supporting everything except Ka low signals.

I thought the legacy ports could also be used with an HR10?

Yes your HR10-250 will work with the legacy outputs.

Sorry. Should have said HR2x and H-2x series!
