Still being new to the whole HD and DirecTV thing, I have been reading a lot on these boards. But something confuses me.
What is Voom? Is it just a company that offers HD Channels exclusively?
Why does DirecTV not carry these channels but Dish network does?
Will DirecTV ever carry them? Or can they even carry them?
The Animania and Monster HD Channels look pretty cool...
___
Next topic of endless questions?
Is DirecTV the only carrier that makes us subscribe to Starz to get the Encore channels? I've always gotten channels like Encore Love Stories, westerns, etc for free; but according to the DirecTV they are only included if I subscribe to Starz! Is this correct?

Voom use to be a company, but I think Dish Network owns the rights to it? I'm not sure about that, but I think I read that some where?
Yes that is correct about the Encore channels, you've gotta subscribe to Starz to get the Encore channels.

Rainbow Media owns Voom, and I think they own Cablevision too. D* can broadcast Voom if the make a deal, but I think Voom is way too expensive for what we would get.

VOOM belongs to Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corporation. Directv does have some of Rainbow's offerings.

I just switched from dish to direct for partially this reason: The Voom channels just recycle the things over and over. You'll see the same 3 movies or shows for 2 days straight at a time. It got old. Not worth it in my opinion.
