I mostly watch recording from network TV and sports. I figured the HD only package would be worth the savings, even if I would loose my RSN. A lot of Pistons games are on ESPN anyhow.

But I forgot about the kids channels for my daughter and I’m getting pummeled for it. If I could add Disney to the lineup, we’d be set. Add Nick, and it even better.

So I was figuring the 100 package, and the light HD, but then I don’t get NBA HD and Versus, so then it HD ultimate. Then with two DVRs - I get hit with $14 in DVR fees, and extra receiver fee, and a fee for locals. Then I think I’m near $100, which is getting close to the everything package for $129.

Are the prices for the packages actually posted on the dishnetwork site anywhere? Does anyone see an angle to get be by until Disney goes HD and (I hope) will be in the HD only package?

I have no commitment and own all my equipment.

Any help is appreciated.

Try starting here (http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/whats_on_dish/programming_packages/at_100/packages.aspx) and selecting from the menu at the left.

Also depending on how important Disney is the Family Package could save a bit and give you Nick.

Thanks. I don't see how I missed this before.

Do I read the correctly - If I get anything less than the top 250, I'll loose versus HD and National Geographic HD?

I'm not certain, but I believe you can get the entire hd package with any dish package from the top 100 and up.
I think!

Hmm. It seems that they itemize what HD channels you get with each package, then the ultimate adds more. Hopefully the ultimate, with the DVR advantage will get me all the HD channels.

That is correct. You can only get those two channels with the top 250, the everything package, or the HD only package.

Those channels are part of the HD essentials package, so you do not need HD Ultimate to get them. Getting HD Ultimate also does not help getting those channels. You still have to subscribe to top 250 or higher.

Thanks. They really spread out the couple of channels I watch. Its $100/month for the 20 I want w/o premium channels.

You are correct sir, my humblest apologies.
I checked out the dish site....those two are only available with the 250. Pay for lots of channels you don't wanna watch to get the few you do....absurd!
Directv is coming out tomorrow afternoon. I know dish still has lots of loyal customers but I don't like the direction they seem to be headed.
To Dish's credit, they are waiving the $13.33 month early disconnection fee because I am not canceling my Wildblue internet service.
I'll be getting the Direct HD-Plus....200+channels including locals, HD dvr, and all of the hd channels available including Nat. Geo and Universal. Activate a second HD receiver and the total per month is $64.97. HD dvr is $199 with instant $100 rebate.
Shipping and handling were waived.
