Alright forum here's one for ya! I have 110/119/61.5 going to a 34 switch. Everything is happy! I never have an issue with anything except transponder 22 on 61.5. I am pulling a 50 with a 30 inch dish and most of the time there is not an issue, but sometimes that transponder becomes unlocked and when I tune to one of those channels is gives me the "searching for satellite" and then times out. When this happens I go to the point dish menu and tune to "tuner 1, 61.5, and tp22" until it "Locks", takes about 5 seconds, then hit live TV and bam, everything is good for hours, sometimes days.
Now this wouldn't be an issue if I didn't set timers to record on some of these channels. When this happens the shows are 50/50 if they will record depending on weather or not the "lock" has "unlocked".
How do I fix this?
I have a 622, Dish 500 for 110/119, 30 inch Wingate for the 61.5 going to a 34switch. Running dual tuners for two tv's and OTA to tuner 1.
Thanks guys!

I had this problem with a 721 receiver. The only difference was that I had a DPP Twin LNB and no switch. After I replaced the LNB the problem went away. You might try replacing the switch.

Why? Nobody here has anything to hide do they?

I noticed that you changed it (or was it changed FOR you?). When I see a name like you WERE using I don't reply. The name may be a joke but one never knows.

Others have mentioned the question of the name, it wasn't a joke, it's been my username since AOL started - just easy to use for everything. Now back to my original question, can you help a "Buddy" out?
Satellites do drift a bit and my guess is that it drifts just enough that your location does not get a good signal at times from that transponder. You must be on the edge of the footprint to need a 30" dish. Here, with a dish 300 (18"), I am reading 50 on that transponder and it is a very rainy day.
Later on today a new satellite will be launched to that slot and, hopefully when it is in service you will get better signals from the 61.5 satellites.
A larger dish (36" ?) may fix the problem but I would put up with it for a little while longer and see if the new satellite and the rearrangement of transponders (between the several satellites at 61.5) fixes the problem.

A 30 inch dish looking at 61.5 is great.
I'd ditch the 34 switch and throw a DP PLus lnb on the dish 500

50 points on new scale is very good signal level, on West Coast 118.75W sat giving 20+ and it's enough for SD channels.
Check your cables, connectors, switch and LNBF, don't forget to adjust the dish for max signal on THE transponder.

Then I would use what an SW21? Maybe I will wait for the new Sat then give it a try if it keeps dropping out.

You can not mix legacy and DishPro switches and LNBs. Your existing setup will work fine. Fred is saying you wouldn't need an external switch if you put a DP Plus Twin on the Dish 500. The DPP Twin has an input for another LNB and an integrated 3-sat switch.

Got it. Unfortunately my Dish 500 is on the roof and the 30" is in the back corner of the yard (only place to get a signal), it would be a very long run to do that. I was hoping the new bird would help my situation but it looks like that's not gonna be the case now. Maybe I should try the earlier post idea of getting a new 34Switch unless you think it's moot...
