View Full Version : 721's on Mpeg4 HBO SHO STARZ
Our condo association has a bulk package that includes HBO, STRZ, TMC and SHO. I have a grandfathered dish that I have upgraded to to a new slimline and a HR20-700. I pay the $10 HD access fee along with additional receiver fees directly to DTV. Our condo assn pays for the bulk package.
Ever since the new mpeg channels were turned on I have been getting 721's on the new preminum channel included in our bulk package. I have called customer service many times and they finally get them turn on. A few days later more 721's. I have called our system operator and he gets them turn on for a few days and again 721's. Right now I am receiving 721's again. What can I do to get a permenent fix? All the other mpeg4 HD channel are fine.
Help!

I would first make sure they have the correct HD package on your account. Just like everything else with DirecTV there is a HD package for the residential and one for MDU Bulk accounts.
721 is channel not purchased and is almost always related to programming on the CSR end. You could also request a new access card and just start fresh.
This leads into another question. DirecTV has recently added two HD packages basically a tier 1 and tier 2. Tier 2 (which of course costs more money) has the HD Net Movies, Universal HD among other channels on it. Does anyone have a lineup of what HD channels are housed on each plan?
It could be possible they are not adding the correct package for the 2nd tier if Showtime and HBO are on this package.
Our package does include SHO. HBO, STRZ and TMC. I do get the original HBO and SHO HD channels (Mpeg2). With my HD access fee, I am entitled to all of the HD channel include in my package

Your package only includes the standard definition channels for HBO, SHO, Starz and TMC. Until recently the preivous HD Access associated to your TMU account only inlucded the MPEG 2 channels.
That package has since expired and you need to make sure that the newest HD Access package for TMU accounts is on your account or you will not receive those channels. The issue is that the normal CSR will not know that.
I am not saying that his is your issue just one of the common problems I have seen since the switch over.
I think I finally found a CSR that understood the problem and went through 3 supervisors to get it fixed. My HD access was deleted and re-installed. All the channels are now working. I hope it is permanent and SHO, HBO & STRZ do not appear on my bill.
They went off again. I am at lost to getting this fixed.
