View Full Version : Problem w/ HR-21 receiver and Logitech Harmony

Here's the deal. When I press my programmed button to "Watch TV" that will turn on the TV, HR-21, and Onkyo Receiver at the same time and put them all to the correct inputs, the HR-21 receiver does not turn on. The TV and Surround Sound are fine, but the HR-21 just does not respond. But the weird thing is that, say I've just gotten done playing Xbox 360 and I want to start watching TV, the HR-21 WILL respond at that point, I guess in part because the other 2 devices are already on. It also turns off when I'm done using it, so I know it at least responds to the remote. It just seems that it won't respond to the initial command to turn everything on for the first time.
Has anyone else had this issue with the HR-21? Or maybe another device when using a logitech harmony remote? I've turned the input device delays down on all the devices, so I know that didn't fix the problem. If anyone has any advice for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I have to assume it is an issue with how your harmony is set up rather than the box itself. I have 2 HR20s setup (both a 700 and 100) with Harmony remotes and neither exhibits any issue. Lots of others on this forum I'm sure will echo that sentiment. Something is wrong with the remote setup.

Does pressing help turn the HR21 on?
Have you thought about just leaving the HR21 on all the time? That's what I do with mine.

I just got an 880. I has the programmig set up pretty much like yours. I had to press help to get it all on. I just went back in and adjusted my setups a little. It works perefectly now. We even got the Slide show to work from our pics. WAY COOL BTW. Try to adjust your settings a little. It will work.

sometimes my HR20-100 doesn't turn on with my Harmony 890. I just click LIST and it comes on. Nobody knows why.

Which settings specifically, do you remember?
Maybe change the order of start up and have the receiver turn on first. I have the 880 and love it. Working great with my Sony AV Receiver, TV and HR20. All my delays etc are at their defaults.
