View Full Version : Edit an exsiting Series Link?
I thought I had broke my HR-21 box when it stopped recording on just one of the SL's that I had setup. After searching on here, I finally put 2+2 together and I think I messed something up when I tried to go into the prioritizer and setup some padding for the recordings. After that, all the recordings went to zero and it hadn't recorded anything since.
But, I'm pretty sure that I did the same thing for a few other Series Link's, but they still seem to be working and haven't lost anything.
I deleted the mussed up SL, and setup a new one and it looks like it is adding back all the shows, so I'd say it's working again. But is the prioritizer the right place to edit a Series Link?

The prioritizer is as good a place as any to edit a series link. Other ways to access the SL settings on a program are by pressing info on any showing listed in the guide or pressing enter on any program in the Play List. They all get you to the same SL setup screen.

I hope that was just a rare goof, and that you won't have that problem again.
I'm certainly not as knowledgeable as many (read:majority) on these boards, but the more I read, the more I realize that some things are out of D*'s hands, and certain seemingly small quirky things can make something on the users end go nutty that's being sent from the broadcaster.
For what it's worth, the program in question is Star Trek: Voyager on Spike (SD channel). I could setup the SL no problem, but when I tried to edit it, it seemed that it would loose all program information. I left it alone for over a week, and it still never updated itself with any new info. Normally within 30 minutes I can at least see a few extra programes being added under the prioritizer. Now, I think that Reno 911 on Comedy Central had did the same thing, but I haven't tried going back to play with that.
Like I said, I've had other SL's that I've edited and been fine. Survivor to name one. So, I wouldn't think it was something with my STB, or most everything would fail I would think when trying this. So maybe it's something with the program?
Thanks for confirming that say-what. I also wanted to make sure it wasn't a user error.

It is best to start by setting the SL to record Both instead of First run. It is much easier to delete than to miss out.
