Sorry if I am in wrong forum/ or if this is posted elsewhere- I could not find anything.

I just had my upgrade done- and it went relatively smooth. My only issue is with the remotes. I have 3 TV's and 3 boxes lined up in a single room (it is my football/baseball watching room). In the past, one box was programmed to a universal remote- which still seems to work on just the one tv) and the other 2 boxes each had an individual DTV remote that controlled them individually. Now, though- each ofthe DTV remotes is controlling all of the boxes. I am trying to use the AV1 and AV2 function to separate them- but running into difficulty. The installer had no clue about this- said he had not seen 3 boxes lined up like that before. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

You would need to configure them all to be RF (or at least one of them).

There are only two distinct IR codes DirecTV and AV1/AV2

So one of them will have to be RF

also remember to cover the other boxes "eye" when you set them up..

Are all three Directv Boxes the same (ie all DVRs, Non-DVRs, etc)?

This thread below might help in programming multiple boxes with one remote.

Also, if the TVs are of a different brand, then it would be no problem controlling them discretely. Otherwise you would have to do the "covering up" of the IR eye trick, as a poster mentioned above, or you will end up controlling the volume, inputs, or power commands on all three TVs at the same time, as well.

If you want to get sophisticated, you might want to consider a universal remote with an RF Base and Individual IR emitters. This will allow you to have full control of all your devices individually from one remote without having to have some sort of piece of cardboard or masking tape to block the IR eyes. And you don't have to "point" the remote directly at the TVs or individual boxes to command them properly.

I highly recommend URC.
