I just wanted to suggest Hulu integration for the HD-DVR's. There's much better content on Hulu than in the VOD so far. What would be the barriers in implementing something this?

It MAY be possible through TVersity and MediaShare. I haven't looked at it at all (still working on MediaShare)

Since this is not CE releated, moving to the general forum.

I was posting this as a suggestion for a new feature...but I guess I should have specified that.

Even so... this would be the correct forum for it.

CE forum is for discussion of the current active CE versions.

Not much mention of it over at the Hulu forums, just a few people asking and that's about it. The reply's are sparse & the word is it can't be done. At least not yet anyway.

My guess is it'll have to wait till if & when TVersity integrates the ability to do "ScreenCasting", which they don't have yet.

There is a plug-in for WindowsMCE Vista that can integrates netflix into your MCE UI.

He says there in his feedback pg. that he's planning on doing streaming over Windows Media Player, via the WMP API, but he has a few bugs/hurdles to get over 1st. That was back in Feb. so maybe soon!!

As far as hulu, that'd sure be awesome. I guess I'm going to have to break down & build a dedicated PC to hookup the the TV for this stuff. Really urks me we are forced to do that sort of thing by the industry.

I've been consistently pleased with hulu so far, but I don't know how the content would look on a large TV.

They have an HD section too. It only has trailers right now. But I think even the regular content would look decent. The main reason I'd like access to it is the content though. They have a great selection.

I think the black & white programs would look great full-screen on a TV...

Took a look at getting Hulu thru media share. Hulu uses rmtp for delivery of the flv containers.

The HD trailers are encoded H264 (3GPP) 1280x720 with AAC-LC
The SD programs are encoded VP6 at slightly less than 480 (416) with MP3

Obviously they had to be transcoded to MPEG2. The HD stuff is very watchable ( keeping in mind this is not the same h264 as delivered from sat - 3GPP was developed with cell phone size devices in mind - not 60+ inch televisions ) - the input bitrate was measuring in the 2-3 Mbps range. But the SD is painful - too painful - input was under 750kbps.

Based on what I think I know about you HR2x users - they will need to make more use of h264 encoding to get a positive response.
