When I go to the guide on both HR20's (-100 & -700) and select the "Movies" category, it only shows 2 Showtime channels and The Movie Channel. It does not show HBO, Cinemax, or Starz. When I go to "All Channels" they show up, so somehow these channels don't know what category they're supposed to be in.

My R15 works correctly, and all channels that are linked to that category show up as they should.

I've done resets, hard resets, and refreshed services form the D* website, and nothing seems to change that.

I'm not sure if this is the only category displaying incorrectly, I could be missing some HD channels, or Family, etc., I just know at least for now it's the movie category.

Is there a way to make the HR20's show these correctly like correct the index, or rebuild the guide data making sure it overwrites anything that might be wrong?

I don't want to do a complete drive format unless it's my only option and that it would correct the problem, especially if it's something to do with HR20 programming flaw which would only net the same results.

I don't think it can be a hardware issue, since I just don't understand why it happens on both units with 2 different manufacturers. I can only assume it's software related.

So if anyone has had this happen and found a solution, please let me know.

Thanks

You don't need to reformat, that won't solve anything... since the guide data isn't on the hard drive permanently

Are you going GUIDE -> YELLOW -> Category-> Movies, that results in a list?
Is it possible that the HBO shows are just not being classified as movies?

Also Moderator Note: Can you reduce the length of your signature.
Combine some of the model you own, into a single line

Your signature was longer then your post

Guide-> Category

Have not used the yellow button, my guide button goes to categories first.

Funny thing is, HBO used to come up, but not Starz, now I don't get either one!

I'll go now & correct my Signature.

Make sure there are movies on those channels at the time you do it. I have noticed some channels come in and out of the filters depending on what content is currently on.

I was thinking that Showtime, HBO, etc., were 24/7?

And like my original post says, they show up (movies) on "All Channels" so why not when their respective category is selected? And to answer you post, it is airing movies at the time.

All of the premium channels show things other than movies. HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc. have original series that are not movies, hence not classified as movies in the guide. That may be what you're seeing when you don't see some of those channels.

Are they always not there, or do the appear and then disappear? If they do that, then its simply a matter of what the channel happens to be showing at that time.

For sure Starz was always not there, and now HBO is always not there. And of course some Showtime show, some don't, and it is consistently that way.

I thought maybe some more info might help you with possibly assisting me on this. I really don't want to exchange these boxes for others if I don't have to. I just hate having to scroll through "All Channels" all the time to see what's on, it really takes to long when I can filter out stuff I really don't want to see at the moment

After looking even deeper this weekend, I see that the "Movie" Category is not the only problem.

It's also the when I go to "HD CHannels" that not everything shows either. I don't see any HBO HD's, or Starz, HD's, and most likely there are others not showing up.

I guess this is my biggest issue I have with these HR20's, and it's likely some software issue since it happens on both -700 & -100. Or could it have something to do with my account if I'm the only one with this problem?

R15 seems to be fine with grouping Movies the way they should be. Just these HR20's that I really like otherwise.

Thanks
