I got the 3 free moths of the extra pack. i called on saturday to cancel. she siad it should roll off of my account. well i am still getting the channels and i called back again. they again state its not showing up on my account. i can see in my programming on the directv site that it says i have it.

what is going on here? am i going to get charged or am i missing something here?

they should revert to regular price. if you encounter a problem. you need to talk to retention

I would call them again and make sure it is off your account. I would also document the date and time and person you called in case they try to bill you. It's better to be safe than sorry. :)

I cancelled online they were switched off within 5 minutes and I had an email confirmation of this. Try unsubscribing online

my 3 free months just expired. i cancelled online, took a minute, programming was gone and an email confirmation showed up within 5 minutes. forget the calling, takes much too long and not necessarily correct

I noticed that they were beginning to charge me for the HD extra pack on my bill activity as well, went online and cancelled, within 5 minutes my channels were turned off..no big deal to do...I decided that the amount of programing I watched did not warrant the extra $5....

I suspect a large number will cancel after the free period.

I tried to cancel online last week and got an error message. I then called and tried to cancel. They asked me if I liked any of the channels. I said I liked MGM HD, but that I didn't think it was worth $5 a month. They then said that they would cancel it and then add it back to my account for free. They did not indicate how long it would be free, but now online it says "HD EXTRA PACK ... $0.00." :)

I would NOT expect it to be anything more than three months. I also wouldn't read into it (not that you would, but I can see others doing this ;)) that it has no expiration date.

I don't think it will be forever either, but I already got the 3 months free back in December. I was planning all along to cancel as soon as the 3 months was up and was surprised when they offered it to be again for free. I am guessing that it will be another 3 months this time.

I have received a number of credits and promotions in the past, but recently they have been more difficult to get. Thus, it surprised me that they gave me this as I didn't even ask for it, they just offered it to me when I told them that I wanted to cancel this package.

I dropped it online, no problems. The channels in that package make Voom look good.
