I'm getting ready to switch to E* and want to use OTA locals with a 722 box. All the Memphis locals I want are in a fairly good cluster (between 65 and 90 degrees) and within 20 miles.

The problem is 2 of the chanels are VHF (5.1 and 13.1) and I'm not sure of a good solution antenna-wise. It seems like the DB2 is normally ok, but I'm worried about the ability to get 5.1 as it is designed for 14-69.

Any body have a similar situation? Do I need to go to 2 antennas?

Thanks!

I'm in a similar situation. I can't get my cbs's 3.1 and 6.1 in with a DB4. They are at 38 and 44 miles away. Can't get an nbc 8.1 in at 45 miles either. I haven't found anything yet for picking up distant vhf's

I believe that if you check you will find that those channels are actually broadcast on UHF. With digital channels, the channel numbering (5.1) is based on the analog channel's channel number, but the digital signal is on a different channel, usually but not always UHF.

WREG - Analog 3/Digital 28
WMC - Analog 5/Digital 52
WKNO - Analog 10/Digital 29
WHBQ - Analog 13/Digital 53
WPTY - Analog 24/Digital 25
WLMT - Analog 30/Digital 31
WPXX - Analog 50/Digital 51

Keep in mind that after the digital conversion date (2/17/09) WMC and WHBQ will return to their original channel assignments since the frequencies will be cut off at channel 51.

I am in West Memphis and use an OTA. I have no problems picking up any of them on UHF. Just get a good antenna. I use an outside one mounted on my Dish pole.
