Williams makes brief return to television

LOS ANGELES — Robin Williams will guest star on an upcoming episode of “Law & Order:
Special Victims Unit", but don’t expect him to bring laughs to the NBC crime drama. Williams,
who is both a comedian and a serious actor, plays an “engineer whose life has gone terribly
wrong” and who faces serious repercussions. The episode, to be filmed later this month, is
scheduled to air April 29. The episode with Williams, titled “Authority,” is the show’s 200th.

Mr. Williams can be very creepy; he was in One Hour Photo. Older comedians seem to have that effect... look at Don Rickles in Casino

That being said, Williams can be also be touching in dramatic roles... Bicentennial Man comes to mind. Jerry Lewis in King of Comedy also, and L&O, where he played that homeless guy. /steve
