External esata hard drive?

I noticed most people are buying internal sata drives and an enclosure.

If you bought just a regular external esata drive will it work?

yes, but I believe the WD My Books don't work.

The Antec MX-1 is the safest way to go.

Most regular esata drives will work with the HR20.
Most will not work with the HR21.

The Cavalry is the only one I have seen posted that it works with both.

I have a Cavalry external drive and it works great with my HR20.

i have a Seagate FreeAgent Pro (ext 750gb) and an Antec with a WD 1tb inside. both work great.
