I am doing an install for my dad. Just purchased the Rca mutisat
from Best Buy......along with the HDVR 2 Pvr. I have heard there are problems with the lnb as far as losing sat signal when the the temps fall below 20 deg.
Can anyone respond if I may come across the same problem.
The following are lot numbers;
Thompson stock # 258678
Triple feed multi Satellite Lnb
Model # 150946
Lot # 0103
**There was a white tab labled "REV: 1 12303......Jan 7, 2003**
So am I safe with this lnb or will run into problems...
Thanks.....

I've never heard of that. You might try using our search feature to see if anyone has posted something to that effect....

Dear DIRECTV Retailer:

DIRECTV has discovered two hardware-related issues that we would like to bring to your attention:

Cal Amp 18"x20" Multi-Satellite Dish Antenna
Some customers have experienced technical difficulties, such as satellite reception loss, with the 18"x20" Multi-Satellite dish antenna LNBs manufactured by Cal Amp and sold under the KTI, RCA and Terk brand names. The issue appears when the dish antenna is connected to multiple receivers during cold weather conditions. Cal Amp is replacing the affected LNBs.

RCA DIRECTV Receivers - Model Nos. 430RGA, 450RGA and 485RGA
Customers installed with an Acer-manufactured 18"x20" Multi-Satellite dish antenna (sold under brand name WNC) may be unable to receive signals from the 101вк West Longitude orbital location with RCA DIRECTV Receiver models listed above. Acer manufactured product does work with all other receivers.

To fix the problem, RCA is evaluating an external in-line adapter that is anticipated to be available soon. In the meantime, the problem can often be corrected by:

For cable run of less than 50 feet - Increasing the run of RG6 cable from the dish antenna to the receiver to approximately 100-150 feet.

For cable run of 50 to 100 feet - Inserting a diplexer or an in-line amp to the back of the receiver or increase the cable run to approximately 100-150 feet.

Current DIRECTV customers can be directed to DIRECTV Customer Service at 1-800-DIRECTV (1-800-347-3288) for assistance. Our customer service reps will help customers diagnose the problem and will provide a free service call if needed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work with Cal Amp and RCA to resolve these technical problems as quickly as possible.

Best regards,
DIRECTV, Inc.
