Are you referring to their new news channel venture? If so, it's supposed to launch by the end of the year. I don't think they've come up with a name yet.

<<P.S. Its too bad FCC thinks mustcarry is the solution to support their multiplicity of broadcasting. Multiplicity of broadcasters - yes, many station owners but the same station owners cant afford programming so need home shopping networks. No support is given towards independently owned cable networks and their carriage. >>
I like this quote:
"And since its purchase by Viacom in 2000, BET has retreated from news, cutting back its news offerings to a single program. "
Does Viacom just enjoy dismantling news departments? Many of the CBS O&Os run 3rd place in local news (even 4th, 5th), CBS Evening News and Early Show are generally 3rd or 4th in most markets. Viacom has cut newscasts in markets they are not atleast 3rd place as in Detroit. Since Viacom acquired BET and cut its news, Comcast/Radio One has announced a new channel that will have news, and so has MBC. Comcast has millions of subscribers, they can force the channel to. MBC will have a much harder time getting carriage.
Comcast here offers MTV Jams and VH 1 Soul, both which offer urban videos not seen on MTV, MTV2 or VH1. Comcast gives free previews to those channels, I see it on analog cable here.
