There is a fairly interesting story in the Dallas Morning News about the Directv/Current Internet service that is being tested here in Dallas. I have heard about the service but did not know much about it.

tfederov? tfederov?
Thanks for the article, Ive been wondering about the service for awhile now. I was hoping they'd start out in the suburbs (north-east small town suburbs to be exact), but at least they've met their time lines so far. Hoping to read more about how it progresses in the future.

wish that would come to my area
Sounds really cool, but lots that has to happen to get it in your area.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the service here in MN, but I know its about millions of years off. Heck I have been waiting for 10yrs now with still no light at the end of the tunnel for Embarq to put in another DSLAM for DSL (simple box they install to expand the DSL range in remote areas) in my area so I am not stuck with a watered down slow version of DSL.
Have there been any reports of RF interference in the Dallas area, such as what was reported in quite a few BPL field tests, such as in Manassas, VA. I haven't seen anything mentioned in QST lately. The ARRL was instrumental in helping to get the BPL programs stopped in several areas where widespread interference to other services from BPL was documented.
