Greetings,

I moved about 7 months ago and was a long time (10+years) dish subscriber. When I moved I had to have my service shut off. For the last several years I was an Everything subscriber and had used auto-pay for 8 or more of the 10 years I was a sub.

Here is my question... I am preparing to move again, and will be subscribing to Dish or Direct. Will I be able to be considered a new customer again with Dish? Will they take into account my long history as a premium customer? I ask becuase if I cannot take advantage of new customer deals, Direct is looking much more appealing.

Thanks for any advice.

btw, I would be looking at installling a dual 722 system for 2 HD, and 2 SD tv's.

After six months, you become sort of a "born again" customer. You get access to some of the new deals with perhaps a little less lovin' in promotions.

Your past is your past. Their biggest concern is your credit record.

Remember that either way, you'll be hog-tied into a 24 month commitment to a base package of programming.

Is there any chance I could be able to speak with the retentions dept. and hold Direct Deal over their heads?

Thanks for your input...

Is there any chance I could be able to speak with the retentions dept. and hold Direct Deal over their heads? They're not convinced the DIRECTV deal is that compelling. They only way to get to retention is to tell them you want to cancel and you have to be prepared for them to say seeya.

Why, you aren't a customer anymore. You chose to leave.

You are a "Returning Customer" you should get virtually the same offers as a new customer. Call and ask them what they will do for you, also call Directv and compare the deals. Both companies have good offers for those that qualify. Directv has the HD lead today but six month/12months that may change again.
