Right now, when you attempt to schedule a recording via Remote Booking, your options are
1) Definitely record, i.e., if there is a conflict, cancel (one of) the scheduled recording(s); or
2) Record IF POSSIBLE, i.e., if there is a conflict, do not change anything.
I understand this is done this way, at least in part, to eliminate any need for bi-directional communication between the IRD and the RB user.
Keeping this goal in mind, how about giving us the ability to label each of the the scheduled recordings (not made by Remote Booking(?)) as a "Priority Recording" (PR) or a "Non-Priority Recording" (NPR)? That way we could be given a third option:
3) Record unless conflict with PR. In this situation, the RB program would take priority over NPR but not PR.
Here is an example, I have a SeasonPass (or whatever its called) for Mythbusters. But, as most of you know, Mythbusters episodes are often re-run multiple times per day. Therefore, I would identify these recordings as NPR. As a result, when I use RB, I would choose option 3, meaning the new recording would take priority over Mythbusters b/c Mythbusters is a NPR.
In order to reduce confusion to the masses, the default would be to have all recordings be PR.
I believe this would greatly increase the usability of RB.
