Today is the 2nd day I've woken up to the 771 message (Searching for signal). Other receivers being fed from the same switch have signal. I got into the signal strength screen, and have signals on both tuners, on all 5 satellites. Exit out of the menu, still have the message until I change the channel. Then it finally clears up.
Receiver missed a recording this morning because of it. Any ideas?

My wife just called me to tell me that my 2 HR20's have a 771 message on screen (hooked up to a 5LNB dish) and my sons R15 has a 771 message (hooked up to a totally separate dish) as well.
WTF ?!??!
Same here, only affecting the HBOs for me at the moment (Of course Im not really watching them because Star Kid makes my eyes bleed), I was just flipping between the east and west HD feed and saw that.
Did a reset, still doing it.
as posted on another thread. by user Billsfan69-
"I just called Directv because I was getting a searching for signal on all my cinemax channels, some hbo's, some showtimes, some starz, and some of the sports channels. They had a recording stating there is a system wide problem, which is why you are getting those messages."
Thanks, and stop confusing us with facts - we wanted conspiracy theories.

I woke up this morning to 771 trying to watch fox news on both hr21's. This would seem to rule out a cabling issue, a receiver issue, and I don't use a multiswitch.
Signal strength is good across all satellites, but I'm now getting 10-12 0's on sat 101. The transponders that are getting a signal are all good 90's-100, which would seem to rule out alignment.
Everyone agree I need a new lnb?

This started with me last week, losing local channels and yesterday I lost more HD channels. I called them and they had me reset the SATs. I asked her why I lost my HD channels and she had no answer. I checked and lots of the other HD channels were gone and I had to select the non HD ones. this morning my local channel had a crawler at the bottom stating to select 291,393,397 &399. I tried but got Channel not available.
There was a system wide issue this morning.

When I had the 771 error a couple of weeks ago the CSR had me switch the ANT 1 and 2 BBC's , not a problem since (until this morning).
When I got 771 on the same channels of three different units this morning I knew that had to be something else. Didn't even bother to call it in.

There's plenty of discussion in the general forum about the recent issue.
