I have noticed that DirecTV is showing select NBA games in HD on their channel 198, these games will be available to all subscribers with HD receivers.
Last weekend both Dish Network and DirecTV aired the NBA All Star Weekend in HDTV, I find it odd that Dish Network is not carrying the HD NBA Games as they did for the All Star game.
I have emailed Michael Schwimmer from Dish Network and hopefully we will hear some good news! The NBA ALL STAR Game looked GREAT!
I have heard back from Dish Network, Click HERE to read what I found out (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?postid=92749#post92749)

I thought 199 was HDnet. Isn't 198 HDPPV?

Talk about a lackluster game! The Lakers are 26 - 23 (granted they have a 7-game winning streak), and the Knicks are 21-28 without a prayer of even making it to the first round of the playoffs.
How about braodcasting a good game like Sacramento vs. San Antonio. Now that will be a game.
I know it is because half the country love the Lakers and the other half love the Knicks. For those of us who like good basketball, this game doesn't have the makings of it.

The team standings do not matter.
LA and NY are the two largest markets.
This is the true name of the game.
Good to see E, DTV and leagues take notice.
Other leagues will be wathing the results of this delivery.
I saw a promo on NBA TV about this, is this actually NBA TV that is carrying the game, obviously not the SD channel at 404 or wherever it is. Just curious
Here's the PR:

NBA-TV lists alot more HDTV games coming up on Dish Network. :)
I though it was a good game last night. Dish did have some problems and breakups at times during the game, but all in all, it was good.
They stretched the non HD programming (commercials) which I didn't like.
NBA-TV said the next HD telecast is March 4. Any word if we will get it?

So has Dish just given up on its HDPPV channel? Why don't they have better movie rotation? Atleast then I would order it more.
