View Full Version : Will I Get Warriors @ Spurs 4/1 on NBALP?

Ok, so due to the baseball season starting and Opening Night for the A's, the Warriors @ Spurs game is not being broadcast on FSN Bay Area nor FSNBA+ as they have the Sharks. The only broadcast of the game will be on League Pass, which I've had all year.
My question is, being in the Warriors home area (but I do not get Bay Area locals) will I get to watch the game on LP or will it blackout?
I really wish whomever does the broadcast schedules would understand that at this time the Warriors are in a tie for the final spot in the playoffs, the Sharks have already clinched a spot, and the A's/Giants couldn't win if the other team forfeited. This happens every year, they start chopping off Warriors games for Giants games.
Anyhow, what will my night look like tomorrow?

This only happens in this very small window when all three major sports that use RSNs are going on.

Yeah, well, there are 162 baseball games and only half of that for a full NBA season. Like I said, I understand it's Opening Night for the A's and being an A's fan, I'm glad it's on TV. But, why throw the Sharks game on the Alternate channel at this point?
And I'm still wondering if the game will be on or not.

I forgot about the W's/Spurs not being on! It's not the same but you could check channelsurfing.net and watch it that way...that's how I watched the McNuggets/Suns game tonight (I don't have NBALP)...it is hard to believe a game that big will not be televised locally...

Thanks for the tip! I might just do that. The game Nuggets/Suns was on NBATV tonight...not sure if you have to have NBALP or not. Great game, Suns came back big time in the 2nd half!
I do remember getting the Warriors/Raptors game earlier this year when it wasn't on any of the RSN channels so maybe this will be the same. Or it was a fluke.
And go A's!!

It's not a matter of them "throwing the Sharks game on the Alternative channel". It's a matter of them fulfilling their contract. Once they contract with the team/league, they can't just go cutting games out without the their approval.
As for your situation, you will probably not see the game tonight on NBALP. There is a slim hope that the Warriors and NBA negotiated a deal to lift the local blackout on non-TV games so NBALP subscribers could watch. It's rare but it happens in some markets. For example, the Sharks games that are not televised locally can be watched in the Bay Area by Center Ice subscribers. So Sharks fans were able to watch all 82 games this season on TV. It's possible the same is in effect for the Warriors, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, I put in my home zip and the game is in the list that comes up. So, hopefully this is accurate.
Thanks again.

If it is of any help, I am in the FSNBA territory (although I am blacked out for the Warriors since I am in Kings territory near Reno), but I have never had a Sharks game blacked out anywhere, FSNBA, NHLCI, Vs., HDNET.

This is wrong. A game with major playoff implications, and correct me if I am wrong, but I may not be able to see it on any of my local stations or RSNs? The games that are being shown instead ( I know, contracts) are the A's third game of the season and a Sharks game with no meaning what-so-ever. Golden State is fighting for a play-off spot against the world champs, on the road.............

So what's the verdict for those in the Bay Area...can you see the game?

It depends; here in Tracy (SAC DMA) tonight, the Giants is being shown on the local CW (NOT in HD), the A's are in HD on the local RSN (CSN Bay Area). The Sharks game is on the local RSN alternate feed but NOT in HD. Was either of the baseball games shown locally in Fresno tonight? We also have Comcast Sport Net Sacramento...

It's no longer FSNBA... I saw today it changed to Comcast Sports Net Bay Area. The alternate feed changed too...

Ah, thanks. Didn't notice that. I spend nearly all of my TV time watching the Isles, who are no longer on FSNY, but MSG+. Is something going on with FSN? I would have noticed in a couple of months when the SF Dragons games start (I would rather watch the LI Lizards, but I only get one or two of their games on ESPN each summer. Besides, the ESPN games are in HD, but the RSN's not only show them in SD, but it looks like video from a camera phone.)

If they did, they're regretting it today. Ugh. Since I'm in the Sac market and have NBALP, I was able to pick up the game and they fell apart at the end of the third. Everyone was benched to rest up for tonight.
Still, was anyone in the Bay Area market able to see the game on the San Antonio feed last night? It doesn't effect me but I'm still curious.
