It appears that they have merged HGTV and Food into 1 channel. They are now both just HD...no SD feed anymore

I think the posting title is misleading. Sounds like HGTV and FOOD share a channel like Golf HD and VS. HD. Instead, the SD versions of HGTV and FOOD are gone and only the HD varieties exist.

SD versions are still viewable the HD channels were changed to remove the -1. The OP seems to be using the Hide SD Duplicates feature.

They are stretching all the SD stuff on the HD channel.

If the SD channels are just hidden now (by using the SD hide feature), what channel numbers are these on now (if unhidden), if the HD versions are on 229 and 231?

The SD and HD versions are both 229 for HGTV and 231 for Food (just like the SD and HD for SciFi is 244).
