Well, i placed the order on Tuesday, install suppose to be on Sat.. i was told i would get an email confirmation within 24 hours and still havent. I go online and the "pending" order doesnt display any of my discounts except the "coupon book." I want the order confirmation for record in case i need to dispute anything because once they show up for the install, im susceptible to pay charges for cancelling. Im guessing i might have to cancel my DTV order. :( Good CSR's are so hard to find now and days! To think,, people wonder why things are going the way they are in the economy and why its so hard to find a job. I swear one lady was so irritated with me that she transferred me to a spanish speaking "new sales" rep. I didnt even have an attitude with her. Sorry... im frustrated.

Sounds a little familiar. Iwas promised email confirmation when I signed up in January - I'm still waiting for that email almost 3 months after install! Also had ther pending order issue - it now says "cancelled". And, got promised many undocumented discounts by the CSR. I even talked to the super aboout them. Of course, like you, few materialized. So, I spent way too much time talking to other CSRs at various locations across the country to get them applied. In the end, after several days I succeeded in getting some restored. Good luck!

Did you end up getting the package and promotions and so forth that you wanted(originally signed up for)?

Regardless of an email confirmation, have you called back and confirmed your deal? When you confirm it, let the CSR tell you from his/her screen what your deal is. Let them read it to you. That would be good enough for me. If it's in the computer, I'd feel safe in going ahead with the install.
And write it down as they read it to you. Get a transaction number, info on the CSR or anything else you can do to document it. Make sure the two of you are in complete agreement as to what the deal is. You should be OK then.

I want to add a couple of things to this conversation. Programming discounts are through online redemption which takes 6 to 8 weeks to post to your bill. You get the hardware rebate immediately on your order. Showtime and Starz is free for 3 month regardless, you just need to cancel them after the 3 months if you do not want them. Additional discounts are typically not possible unless there are some non advertised offers or the CSR has additional closing tools (which I don't know if they have). If you don't get an email conferation I would call back to make sure your order is in the system.

I guess you have a good point. Everytime i have called, they have verified every discount and so forth so its accurate. Yesterday when i called, one of the CSR's said he could see what i see online as well as my actual order. He tells me that as soon as it is "processed", ill see everything included with my order. So heck with it i guess. Ill just let them install. Im just afraid they are going to rip some nice discounts away once its all hooked up. I got the AAA discount $10\24, the national $18\12, Free Showtime for a year, Starz for 3 months, "welcome to DirectTV coupon Book, 2 HD\DVR for $99 ea. and $50 referral. I just dont wanna lose any of them. :D
