For those of you who watch (or don't watch it anymore) this weeks Twilight Zone will be a remake of one of the most popular (and my personal favorite) episodes of all time. Monster Are Due on Maple Street.

I know quite a few here watched the new series when it debuted in the fall, but is anyone still watching it? and what do you think of it so far?

So how was the remake? My 2 favorite Outer Limits were remade on the SHowtime Outer Limits and the very essence that drew me to them were removed from both remakes "The Inheritors" and "A Feasibility Study", either the storyline was updated or the general feel of the episode was changed. :(

The remake will be this week Wed, 2/19. I didn't know if I could make it back here in the next few hours to post, so I used 'this week'. :)

I still record TZ on my PVR, but usually it falls off the end of the play list before I get to watch them. A remake will NOT make me watch. Remakes never have the spark of the original. Not even the TZ Movie a while back. The TZ movie was nothing but remakes and all SUCKED in comarison to the original series.

Is it so hard to write original stories? Is it so difficult to give an old idea a new treatment? Well... Maybe.

See ya

I loved it! The first episode with a follow up to the cornfield kid was genius. It's great they could get the same guy to play him. Monsters Due on Maple Street had a nice modern twist. Everything from the cell phones going off, to the parallel to the original with the kid comparing the situation to comic books , with the kid comparing it to ID4. Nice marketing at work mentioning Home Depot, the 'orange' reference it goes on and on. This is why I'm such a big fan of the new TZ, old ideas with modernized 40 years. There are so many little similar ideas between the original and the new one. Last time the the neighborhood suspected each other as being aliens, this time it was suspected they were....(watch it or check out tvtome :))

Billy Mumy was very famous as a child actor, especially if you watched Lost in Space. The Little girl was his real life daughter.
He was on countless shows in the 60's. I found the remake-followup really interesting. I also have the original Twilight Zone on tape.
