Sport South HD (Channel 631-1) Discussion

We are currently watching the Pirates @ Braves game on this channel.The PQ looks great and the audio seems fine as of now.Anyone else watching the game on this channel right now?

It looked great to me last night, but why does this channel go away to a DTV logo after the Braves game? Are the Braves all that Sports South does in HD?

The "-1" is a game only channel,meaning the only time you will see programming on it is when the channel is broadcasting a game in HD.They also do some NBA and NHL games too.

An FYI ahead of time for Braves & Dodgers fans.The game will be on channel 631-1 in HD tomorrow (4/20) according to current info in the guide.Braves Live Pre-Game from 1-1:30PM EDT,with the game scheduled to start at 1:30PM EDT.

I was looking through the guide a few minutes ago and see that this game is also scheduled to air on TBS today at 1:30PM EDT.So,I wouldn't be surprised if the Sport South broadcast gets blacked out in our area today.

i saw a game during the free preview week on SS HD, the PQ looked good, but are they still using SD graphics?? the on screen graphics looked big compared to SNY's graphics.

Well,the Sport South feed didn't get turned off here after all. :)
I figured with TBS doing the national feed for the game that Sport South would get blacked out in our area.Going back and forth between TBS and Sport South,the PQ looks great on both channels,the audio seems in sync at this point too. :)

I was actually thinking the opposite here in metro Atlanta. I was thinking that the TBS feed would have been blacked out locally similar to how ESPN is when they televise the Braves and that game is also available on SS or FSN-South. But the TBS feed is available here.

Thought I would give a heads up on the game tonight between the Nationals and Braves.It is showing up in the guide on channel 631-1.The Braves pre-game show is currently live on the channel,so it looks like the game is a go for the channel tonight too. :)

someone on my local AVS thread mentioned that the NATS feed on MASN is showing the game in upconverted HD or 4:3

I'm getting both the 626-1 feed and 631-1 feed both HD and picture quality looks a bit better on SS. I do have a sound synch delay on 631-1, but it's fine on MASN. Disconcerting to see a ball hit then hear the sound a quarter second later.

Yes,Sport South (631-1) is showing tonight's game in HD (720p).

Nationals @ Braves on this channel again tonight at 7PM EDT.John Smoltz is scheduled to start this game,needing 4 strikeouts to become the 16th pitcher in MLB history with 3,000 strikeouts. :)

And Smoltz is sitting at 3,005 Ks as I type this. Had some video and audio stuttering in the 6th and 7th innings (don't know the source of the problem) but seems ok now in Top 7.
