With the TiVo, it was make a daily call. I don't know if you can do that with the D* DVR's, I haven't checked.
But when we did, it would work.

When there is a new update DIRECTV will automatically push the update to your receiver as long as you have a signal on SAT 101.

FYI - I was able to download new software last night at 2am CDT which is outside of the posted window.

push in the red reset button when the receiver starts to reboot on the remote enter 0-2-4-6-8

I assume since he posted this thread in the "General DIRECTV" forum and not the "CE" forum he is talking about national release software.

Thanks. I have a signal on 101 but the last update was on 2/13. I just saw there was a new one out, I guess sooner or later it will hit me.

just choose restart receiver from the setup menu, when the leds first start to spin carefully enter 0-2-4-6-8 on remote, it will download the latest NR available to you. There is no reason to use the RBR(red button reset), unless your receiver stops responding to remote.

The software you are talking about is CE software. If you visit the Cutting Edge forum you will find all the information on it.

No, that is a staggered roll out of a new national release but it if for the H20 not HR20.
